The NHL Global Series is the North American premier ice hockey league’s initiative to bring more fans from across the world to the sport, getting more people interested and involved in the sport. With 25% of the league made up of players from Europe, it is no surprise that the NHL is looking to expand its reach outside the US and Canada and further into European nations.
The NHL Global Series sees a number of games played in Europe, with NHL teams taking on a professional team from Europe . The games have previously been played in Germany, Czech Republic, Sweden, Switzerland and Sweden.
The 2022/23 NHL season is currently in full swing, however it is safe to assume that after a successful Global Series to start the current season, it will return for the 2023/24 season.
