In 1983, Minnesota and the St. Louis Cardinals were the first teams to play an NFL exhibition game in Europe, specifically at Wembley Stadium, and the Vikings emerged victorious. Additionally, the Vikings had successful exhibition games in Sweden (1988), Germany (1993), and Japan (1994).
In 2013, the Vikings returned to the United Kingdom for their first international regular-season game and defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 34-27 in Week 4. In 2017, during Week 8, Minnesota visited London and secured a 33-16 win against the Cleveland Browns at Twickenham Stadium.
More recently, in 2022, the Vikings faced the New Orleans Saints in Week 4 and left the game with a 28-25 win. This victory was achieved through a double doink on a field goal attempt by the Saints, which would have tied the game.

The team will now play in the Capital for a regular-season game scheduled to take place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. It will mark the Bears' fourth trip to London.
