The 2024 NASCAR Cup Series marks the 76th edition of NASCAR professional stock car racing in the United States and the 53rd season for the modern-era Cup Series. The pre-season kicked off with the Busch Light Clash on February 3 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, followed by the Bluegreen Vacations Duel qualifying races on February 15. The official start of the season took place with the 66th running of the Daytona 500, the first points race, on February 19, all hosted at Daytona International Speedway. The season will conclude with the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway on November 10.
Notably, this season will mark the first absence of Kevin Harvick since 2000, following his retirement after the 2023 season. Harvick transitioned to the NASCAR on Fox broadcast booth in 2024. Additionally, Aric Almirola, who raced full-time until the 2023 season, will not be participating in the upcoming season. Furthermore, the 2024 season signifies the conclusion of NASCAR's current TV rights deal, which commenced in 2015.
Ryan Blaney of Team Penske enters the season as the defending champion from the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series.
Daytona 500
