Founded in 1865, Nottingham Forest achieved huge success under Brian Clough in the 1970s, winning the Football League title in 1977-78 and securing promotion to the top division. On the European stage, they won back-to-back European Cups (now the Champions League) in 1979 and 1980. They also added four League Cups during this era.
Forest were relegated from the Premier League in 1999 and spent much of the following decades in the second tier of English football. After years of managerial changes and near-misses in promotion campaigns, the team returned to the Premier League for the first time in 23 years in 2022, under the management of Steve Cooper.
Today, Nottingham Forest remains a historic club with a passionate fan base, striving to re-establish itself in English football’s top tier.
