Unlock the door to an undercover world of iconic dance flavours in 2025. Speakeasy begins in the roaring 1920s - the era of elegance, extravagance and excess, where the Charleston prevailed, and flapper fashions were utterly fabulous. We then waltz into the 1930s; the golden age of cinema with a celebration of legendary ballroom dance icons Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire, with a killer contrast - dancing the dark and dangerous dalliances of Bonnie and Clyde. This bleeds into the 1940s and the smoky underworld of Burlesque, Cabaret and the pulsating mambos of the Copacabana. Elvis was King of the 1950s which saw the revolution of rock’n’roll and the jive as well as the iconic Latin moves of the ultimate movie musical, West Side Story. Fosse freedom and beatnik stylings lead the way in the 1960s, with a 1970s climax of the elusive glamour and mirror balls of Studio 54.
Owned by theatrical visionary Andrew Lloyd Webber – who has created some of the world’s most popular and timeless musical productions – we know a thing or two about staging the spectacular. Since we started up back in 1977, our passion and pride for what we do has seen us become the largest operator of musical theatres in London. With one in three audience members at a London musical walking through the doors of our West End theatres, chances are, if you’ve seen a musical in the capital, you’ve been to visit us. We want you to enjoy every second with us, from the moment you book your ticket to the moment you leave our theatres. Whether you’re coming to see long-running classics like The Phantom of the Opera or the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Matilda The Musical, Disney’s spectacular Frozen The Musical, the Olivier Award winning Back to the Future: The Musical, LW Theatres is the official place to witness the extraordinary. We guarantee the best possible seats and unbeatable availability when you come to one of our productions, making LW Theatres your first and only port of call when it comes to seeing that special show you’ve had your eye on.
