Kasabian is a British rock band that formed in Leicester, England, in 1997. The band's music often blends elements of rock, electronica, and alternative rock, creating a unique sound that has gained them a dedicated following.
The band was formed by Tom Meighan (lead vocals), Sergio Pizzorno (guitar, vocals, and songwriter), and Chris Edwards (bass). They were later joined by Ian Matthews (drums) and Jay Mehler (guitar). In their early years, Kasabian performed at small local venues and gradually built a fanbase with their energetic live performances.
Their breakthrough came with the release of their self-titled debut album, "Kasabian," in 2004. The album was critically acclaimed and reached number four on the UK Albums Chart. It featured hit singles like "Club Foot" and "L.S.F. (Lost Souls Forever)".
Kasabian's rise to fame continued with their subsequent albums. "Empire" (2006) became their first number-one album, boasting popular tracks such as "Shoot the Runner" and the title track "Empire".
