Windsor Racecourse, located in the local area of Windsor, has a rich history that dates back several centuries. Horse racing at Windsor can be traced back to the time of Henry VIII, but the first official race meeting at Royal Windsor did not take place until 1866. However, racing has been recorded at the site as far back as 1600, and during the 18th century, it was the home to the Egham Meeting, which was considered more important than Royal Ascot at the time.

Throughout the 1800s, Windsor Racecourse gained popularity in steeplechase racing and became a favourite among the military and hosted professional racing meetings. However, in December 1998, Windsor Racecourse abandoned National Hunt jump racing and switched entirely to Flat racing.

Today, Windsor Racecourse is owned by Arena Leisure PLC and is best known for its Flat racing events. It has become a popular and prestigious venue for horse racing enthusiasts. The racecourse offers a unique backdrop with its stunning location near the town of Windsor and picturesque views of Windsor Castle.
