After Usyk beat Joshua earlier this year, WBC title holder Tyson Fury was keen to fight the Ukrainian in an undisputed heavyweight title fight, with Usyk's WBA, WBO and IBF titles combining with Fury's for the first time in heavyweight history.
Unfortunately, Usyk will not be able to box this year, and this has left Fury pining after a fight with Anthony Joshua in what he has called "The Battle of Britannia".
In a series of Twitter communications, Fury called out Joshua and eventually received a reply in which AJ told him that he would be "ready in December".
Joshua reportedly accepted Fury's 60/40 fight offer, but it was up to his team (258 Management and Matchroom Boxing) to look over all the terms from Fury's team.
They have since done so and on 13th September, the announcement came from the 258 Management Twitter page that they, on the behalf of Joshua, have accepted the terms.
Fury's promoter Frank Warren replied to the post, saying "Contract will be with you very soon".
When and where will the Joshua vs Fury fight take place?
Fury was the one holding all the power per-say in regards to when and where the fight will be happening.
In his proposal to Joshua, he stated two dates and venues to chose from; 26th November in London, and 3rd December in Cardiff, Wales at the Principality Stadium.
With AJ choosing the latter date, it looks as though the fight will be happening at the Principality, although this is still yet to be fully confirmed.
