The Northern-based rugby club, Warrington Wolves, has announced that they will temporarily rename the Halliwell Jones Stadium for one night in honour of Warrington-born darts great and Wolves fan, Luke Littler.

The rebranding will take place on Friday, 21st February, as the Warrington Wolves face the Catalan Dragons in their Super League season opener. Littler will lead the players onto the pitch and present the Sid Waddell trophy at half-time.

The Luke Littler Stadium is a celebration of Littler’s historic PDC Championship win. At just 17 years and 347 days old, Littler became the youngest-ever PDC World Darts Champion after defeating Michael van Gerwen at Alexandra Palace this January.

Littler, also a boyhood Manchester United fan, paraded the Sid Waddell trophy around Old Trafford during half-time at Manchester United's Premier League match against Brighton in January. Unfortunately, they were unable to capitalize on the excitement, with the match ending in a 3 -1 defeat.
