Released on 19th April, ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ is Taylor Swift’s most recent album, following ‘Speak Now: Taylor’s Version’ release in July 2023. It is also her first new material since ‘Midnights’ came out in October 2022.

‘The Tortured Poets Department’ has been hinted at and referenced by Taylor through Easter eggs, scattered throughout the internet and during her ‘Eras Tour’. The official announcement came during her acceptance speech at the 2024 Grammys and an X (formerly Twitter) post on 5th February.

The first track ‘Fortnight (feat. Post Malone)’ has been announced as the lead single, and the quiet synth basslines will no doubt quickly become a fan favourite.
