On this blog, we'll be covering everything from their new formation and music, to tour dates and locations. So, join us as we honour three decades of musical brilliance and dive into the exciting world of Snow Patrol!

Snow Patrol currently has three members: vocals and guitar frontman Gary Lightbody, Nathan Connolly on guitar, and Johnny McDaid on guitar and piano.
Gary Lightbody is the band’s only remaining original member, and it was only last year that they were reduced to a three-piece band, after Jonny Quinn and Paul Wilson left in 2023.
Has Snow Patrol released new music?
After a few weeks of teasing on social media, the band dropped their new single, 'The Beginning' on Wednesday 29th May.
This emotional indie-pop track is just a taste of what's to come from their highly anticipated eighth studio album, titled ‘The Forest Is The Path’.
The long-awaited album, dropping on 13th September, will mark their first new material since their last record, ‘Wildness’ was released in 2018.
As their first album following the departure of Quinn and Wilson, it is likely to be both a reflection on their incredible career to date, and a look towards the exciting future - as they said in the Instagram announcement, “We have a profound love and respect for all who have been on this journey with us those many years. But while we honour the past we also want to cherish the present and look to the future.”
Will Snow Patrol tour again?
Snow Patrol have announced that they are getting back on the road following the release of ‘The Forest Is The Path’, hitting British and European stages in early 2025.
Discussing the upcoming tour on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with host Nick Grimshaw, Lightbody said "I cannot wait, we cannot wait for playing live”, making clear his love of touring and leaving no doubt that fans will have a lot to look forward to next year.
The tour will kick off in Paris in January and end in Belfast in February, making a total of 16 stops across the UK and Europe.
