26 February 2025 - Seat Unique is supporting the work of Nordoff and Robbins, the UK’s largest music therapy charity, through its sponsorship of the Northern Music Awards 2025.
Alongside Ticketmaster and Live Nation, Seat Unique is sponsoring awards at the event, which celebrates the region’s musical talent while raising vital funds for Nordoff and Robbins.
The awards will take place at the historic Liverpool Olympia on 27 March, bringing together the best artists, festivals, venues, and industry figures from across the North of England.
This year, Seat Unique is sponsoring the Inspirational Venue of the Year awards, which recognise outstanding venues making a significant impact on the live music scene. A percentage of the sponsorship fee will also be shared with the Music Venue Trust, supporting grassroots music spaces.
The winners are:
- Inspirational Venue of the Year under 2,000 capacity: The Trades Club, Hebden Bridge
- Inspirational Venue of the Year over 2,000 capacity: The Piece Hall, Halifax

Northern venues play a crucial role in the UK’s live music ecosystem, nurturing emerging talent, hosting global icons, and creating unforgettable experiences for fans. Seat Unique is excited to celebrate these spaces and their contribution to live entertainment.
Robin Sherry, founder and CEO of Seat Unique, said: “We recognise the power of music to inspire and unite communities. By supporting the Northern Music Awards and Nordoff and Robbins, we are helping to bring life-changing music therapy to people across the North of England.”
In addition to celebrating Northern venues, the Northern Music Awards will also toast the region’s talented artists and musicians. The event will feature live performances from Blossoms, Chiedu Oraka, Lightning Seeds, Luvcat and The Zutons, with the night hosted by Chris Hawkins. English singer-songwriter Ian Broudie will receive the SJM Concerts Special Recognition Award.
The event will also pay tribute to the following music legends:

- IDLES will pick up the Uber Eats Music Hall Best Live Act Award
About Nordoff and Robbins
Nordoff and Robbins is the UK’s largest music therapy charity, with a unique approach shaped by more than 60 years of practice. Through the power of music, it breaks through the barriers caused by life-limiting illness, disability and social isolation. The charity does this through providing music therapy to people across the UK, whilst also training the music therapists of the future and funding research to measure and improve the impact of its work.
Music therapy is the act of supporting people to connect and communicate through music who otherwise are unable to; such as those living with dementia to autism, learning difficulties to brain injuries, life-limiting illnesses to mental health issues, grief and trauma. Nordoff and Robbins music therapists use the power of music to create space for people to express themselves and find connection in society.
Nordoff and Robbins has specialist centres in London (Croydon and Kentish Town), Dunfermline, Glasgow and Newcastle that provide one-to-one and group sessions for children and adults, alongside providing sessions in various settings including schools, hospitals, care homes and more. Its music therapy training is validated by Goldsmiths, University of London, and is approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
From adults with dementia reconnecting with their family, to autistic children finding their voice, Nordoff and Robbins believes that everyone who needs it should have access to music therapy, because it can, quite simply, transform people’s lives.
