What happened in England's Euros games in 2024?
England finished top of the group stage - but were criticised for drawing two matches and winning just one.
Next up, there was a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Slovakia in the last 16, where Jude Bellingham netted a dramatic 95th-minute bicycle kick equaliser before Harry Kane's header goal just 50 seconds into extra time, securing the win.
Then, England next took on Switzerland. After a 1-1 match followed by a nail-biting bout of extra time, the Three Lions stormed to victory in a stunning penalty shootout, winning by 5 to Switzerland's 4 penalties.
Fans were left elated after Bukayo Saka, Ivan Toney, Jude Bellingham, Cole Palmer and Trent Alexander-Arnold netted a series of cool, calm and collected penalties, taking England into the semis.
At their 10th July semi final against the Netherlands, the Dutch scored early on, but England equalised after Harry Kane scored a penalty. It looked like the game would go to extra time - something fans are familiar with after the game with Switzerland - until Ollie Watkins scored a stunning goal in the 90th minute, sending England to their second successive Euros final in a row.
At the final versus Spain, England were one goal down until Cole Palmer equalized. But when Spain scored a late second goal in the game, the Three Lions ended the game 2-1 down. For another successive final, it seems, the squad would finish in second place.
It's bittersweet, but getting into the Euros finals in two successive competitions in a row is no mean feat - and fans will be hoping that the lads finally bring it home next time.
What were the odds of England winning the European Cup?
The Three Lions entered the Euros 2024 as one of the top contenders for victory, buoyed by a formidable squad of skilled players.
With Spain putting on a strong performance as the favourite to win, according to Oddschecker.com, England were second favourite to win.
