An update from CEO and Founder of Seat Unique, Robin Sherry, on the COVID-19 outbreak.
No matter where you are in the world, the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak has presented unforeseen difficulties and unexpected challenges for us all. In these unprecedented times, we share the weight of many anxieties: worry for the health of our loved ones, the fear of an uncertain future, the threat posed to our livelihoods and financial pressure.
Since early 2020, Seat Unique’s industry has been directly affected by the Coronavirus. Events are being cancelled, postponed or rescheduled daily. We understand how thoroughly disappointing and disconcerting this is for anyone who’s booked tickets for upcoming sports matches or concerts; so myself and the Seat Unique team would like to take this opportunity to offer some reassurance on a few things:
Postponed, rescheduled and cancelled events
If you’ve booked official VIP hospitality through the Seat Unique platform, then you have a binding agreement in law with the rightsholder (Club or venue) of the event.
As it stands, ticket refund requests will not be accepted until there is confirmation of the revised match or concert date. However, when an event is cancelled, we will work with the rightsholder to issue a refund if this is offered by them.
If an event is postponed or rescheduled, we will inform you of the available options. Hospitality tickets are most often valid for the new date, but we will address this on a case by case basis.
We have our finger on the pulse of the live events industry. This means our website and blog conveys the latest available and official information, keeping you up-to-date, whatever happens. During this unpredictable period, the Seat Unique team will be on-hand to assist as best we can you with your queries.
What does the future hold for live events?
Although there are arduous months ahead, we remain positive about the power live events have on lifting our spirits and bringing us together in the toughest of times.
In the aftermath of the Coronavirus crisis, we anticipate the industry will restart, with events returning bigger and better than ever. Seat Unique is taking measures to ensure we’re ready to provide our customers incredible VIP access to the world’s best events, in the wake of this pandemic.
Seat Unique business update
While the timing and scale of COVID-19 has had a serious impact on the events industry, Seat Unique remains in a place of strength. As a technology business, we're well equipped for unexpected changes in the market. Our team members are now working remotely and will continue to do so following government advice.
We are working officially with Clubs and venues, by providing them with software that enables fans to purchase hospitality tickets and premium packages through our secure website. By powering VIP experiences on our innovative platform, our partners can prepare for the resurgence of demand for future live events.
On the other side of the Coronavirus pandemic, we're positive that an abundance of incredible live events await. At Seat Unique, we're committed to connecting fans with unforgettable live experiences. We're working closely with our partners to continue to increase access to VIP hospitality for all.
Through our trusted 24/7 online service, we will be available to assist you with any questions you may have. However, the demands on Seat Unique’s staff are greater than ever. We are in constant communication with Clubs and venues on a daily basis, and will update you on bookings as and when we have concrete answers from them.
We appreciate every one of you being so understanding during this period.
Stay safe and healthy.
Robin Sherry, CEO and Founder.
