Busted and McFly are two of the UK’s most successful mainstream pop-punk bands. Closely connected, the bands even got together to create a supergroup, McBusted, from 2013 to 2015. 

Busted formed in 2000, and McFly’s Tom Fletcher was originally one of the members, albeit briefly. Though his time in the band didn’t last, he went on to write songs for the band and became friends with Busted’s James Bourne, before forming McFly in 2003. 

Now, fans are overjoyed at the news that the bands will be going on tour together soon, but this time not as McBusted - as their own separate entities.

The bands have announced that they’ll be taking to the road together for a series of gigs that’s being dubbed the “the ultimate face off” between the two bands. 

"Fans can decide," said Busted on stage at a McFly gig, reported by the MailOnline. "They can come and support their band and they might change their mind. It's going to be a fight to the death."
