Golden Disc Awards
The Golden Disc Awards are an annual music award show in South Korea, and is a particularly important night of the year for K-pop acts. As with many Korean award shows, the Song Daesang (or Song of the Year) and Album Daesang (Album of the Year) categories are very important, both of which BLACKPINK have been nominated for.
The biggest prize however is the Album and Song Bonsang, which is the main prize of the evening. BLACKPINK have, unsurprisingly, won both multiple times!
Guinness World Records
BLACKPINK have broken many records over the course of their career, particularly breaking ceilings for other female K-pop artists and bringing amazing girl group music to worldwide audiences. Some of the most impressive records they set were the first girl group to top the albums chart in both the US and UK, and being the most-streamed female group on Spotify.
The records BLACKPINK have set for music videos on YouTube are also very impressive, including most-viewed music channel and most subscribers for a band.
Billboard Music Awards
BLACKPINK have a few nominations and wins from Western awarding bodies, showing how global their impact has become as they bring K-pop music to charts around the world. In 2023, the group won the award for Top K-pop Touring Artist, owing to their massively successful Born Pink World Tour.
They were also nominated for Top Social Artist in 2021, and it’s no wonder as the group has achieved such success digitally. Not only have they racked up huge numbers on streaming websites, but the four members of BLACKPINK have a combined following of 354.2 million on Instagram.
MAMA Awards
The Mnet Asian Music Awards are the major awards show in the K-pop industry, a bit like the Asian Grammys. Most of the awards are won by K-pop acts, but there are other categories for other genres.
BLACKPINK have won Best Female Group, Best Music Video, Worldwide Fans’ Choice, and of course the major daesangs like Song of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Album of the Year.
