Billie has been talking about a new album for some time, telling Vanity Fair back in 2022 that she and her brother FINNEAS “just started the process of making an album, which is really exciting".
Fast-forward to the 22nd of February this year, she posted a photo on Instagram with the caption “my album is mastered”. A few weeks later on 8th April, she then followed it up with the official announcement: a photo of the album’s cover art and the caption ““HIT ME HARD AND SOFT” MY THIRD ALBUMMMMMMMMMMMMM COMES OUT MAY 17THHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH AHHHHHHHHHH”
The album was released at the end of May to critical acclaim with The Independent proclaiming that it "whispers its way through a marvelous maze of music to deliver some big emotional wallops."
The first two singles from the album, 'Lunch' and 'Birds of a Feather', debuted at number two in the UK charts.

Was Billie Eilish at the Olympics closing ceremony?
Fans were delighted when the singer made an appearance as the Paris 2024 Olympics was handed over Los Angeles, where the 2028 Olympics will take place.
After a performance from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, next up was Eilish, appearing in her signature baggy look for a cool rendition of 'Birds of a Feather'.
She was followed by an epic performance from Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre.
When did Billie Eilish last go on tour?
Billie Eilish wrapped up her most recent tour in April 2023, bringing to an end the year-long ‘Happier Than Ever, The World Tour’.
Her fifth world tour, supporting her second studio album (by the same name) took the star across North America, South America, the UK, Asia and Oceania.
The European leg of the tour included visits to the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, five different dates in the O2 Arena in London, and other major cities such as Berlin, Paris and Dublin.

The renowned pop icon unveiled her upcoming world tour via social media, with the North American leg commencing on 29th September. Fans in the UK can anticipate her arrival in the summer of 2025.
Starting in Glasgow on 7th July, Billie will grace the stage for five nights at London's O2 Arena, followed by four nights at Manchester's Co-op Live arena, and concluding with two nights at Dublin's 3Arena.

As part of her ongoing climate activism, Billie Eilish told Billboard that she had partnered up with Reverb on her previous tour, a non-profit organisation promoting sustainability in the music industry. Their and Billie's goal was to ensure that her 'Happier Than Ever Tour' was climate positive, meaning that it would eliminate more emissions than it produced.
She has partnered with them again for her upcoming tour, continuing her commitment to initiatives such as reducing single-use plastics, offering plant-based food options, and donating a portion of profits to fund climate projects.
