Grammy Awards
Nominations: 88 | Wins: 32
The Grammy Awards is the biggest music award show in the industry. Its legacy, prestige and significance within the music world make it the highest honour for any artist to win.
Beyoncé is the Queen of the Grammys as she is the most-nominated female artist and the most-awarded singer in Grammy history.
Her 32 wins include Song of the Year for ‘Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It), four Best R&B Songs, and three Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals (two with Destiny’s Child, one collaboration with Stevie Wonder).
She added to her win column as she has been nominated in nine categories at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards in 2023.
She added to her overall award haul at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards on 5th January 2023 by winning four awards from nine nominations, which also saw her break the record for most Grammy wins of all time.
BRIT Awards
Nominations: 10 | Wins: 4
The BRIT Awards is essentially the British version of the Grammys and is intended to celebrate British artists, hence Beyoncé's low nomination count.
Despite this, she has still picked up four wins, with two Best International Female Solo Artist awards in 2004 and 2017, with six nominations in that category.
Her other two wins came as part of Destiny’s Child in 2002 for Best International Group, and in 2019 for the same award, this time with her husband, Jay Z, as The Carters.
BET Awards
Nominations: 76 | Wins: 32
The BET Awards is an American award show by the Black Entertainment Television network, a cable channel in the US that targets African-American audiences. The BET Awards celebrate black entertainers and other minorities in music, film, sports and philanthropy.
As a Black woman, Beyoncé has always celebrated and championed her heritage, and as such is an icon within the Black community.
At the BET Awards, she has the record for being the most-awarded artist with 32 wins, and in 2020 she was honoured with the Humanitarian Award, which is given to a celebrity philanthropist who donates their time and money to a charitable cause.
MTV Video Music Awards
Nominations: 89 | Wins: 29
Another award show where she is the most-awarded artist in show history, the MTV Video Music Awards, or VMAs for short, honours the best in the music video medium - an area in that Beyoncé has excelled.
Some of her more successful music videos include ‘Formation’, which won the award for every category it got nominated for, ‘Crazy In Love’, which won three of the four awards it was nominated for, and ‘Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It), which won Video of the Year - her first of two of that award.
Soul Train Music Awards
Nominations: 62 | Wins: 21
The Soul Train Music Awards celebrates the best in the soul, R&B and Hip-Hop music, and honours the best in African-American culture, music and entertainment.
Once again, Beyoncé comes as number one for the most-awarded artist in award show history, with a strong 10 award lead over Chris Brown in second.
2022 saw her pick up the Album of the Year and Song of the Year awards for ‘Renaissance’ and ‘Break My Soul’. ‘Renaissance’ is indeed one of Beyoncé’s top records - check out where it comes on our list of her best albums.
Billboard Music Awards
Nominations: 59 | Wins: 27
The Billboard Music Awards are honours awarded by Billboard, an American music and entertainment magazine publication. Their award show works differently from that of the Grammys - instead of nominations being a result of votes, the Billboard Music Awards finalists are based on album and digital song sales, streaming, radio airplay, touring, and social engagement.
Back in the early 2000s, Beyoncé was rolling in the awards. At the 2000 and 2001 award shows while still with Destiny’s Child, the group won every award they were up for in both years.
Then in 2003, after branching out alone, she picked up four of the six awards she was up for, including Top New Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, and Top New R&B/Hip-Hop Artist.
