What races are happening at Ebor Festival?
Wednesday 23rd August – Juddmonte International
This race was ranked number one of all thoroughbred horse races in the world in 2012 and 2020 and is the richest race of the York Racecourse season.
Thursday 24th August – Yorkshire Oaks & Ladies Day
Ladies Day is the social highlight of Ebor Festival and sees the competition for ‘Best Dressed’ take place on the iconic Ebor Fashion Lawn.
The Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks also takes place on this day and regularly sees the highest rated mare and fillies of Europe race.
Friday 25th August – Coolmore Wooton Bassett Nunthorpe
Friday at Ebor Festival features the fastest race, the Coolmore Wooton Bassett Nunthorpe. The race has ranked at the highest 1000m sprint in the world and saw a record of under 57 seconds in 2019.
Saturday 26th August – Sky Bet Ebor
The Ebor race has taken place since 1843 and is the oldest and most famous race of the Ebor Festival. With the richest flat handicap in Europe, this day is full of buzz.

The only formal dress code at York is in the County Stand. Here, gentlemen are required to wear a jacket, collared shirt, and tie.
Short-sleeved shirts, bow ties, cravats and dress shorts are also accepted.
Whilst there is no formal dress code for ladies, most choose to dress in dresses or skirts and high-heeled shoes. It is also typical for ladies to wear fascinators' hats.
On Ladies Day, guests tend to dress more smartly and flamboyantly as fashion plays an important factor.
