With 140 appearances for Harlequins under his belt, fly half Marcus Smith has gone from strength to strength in the last few years.
Debuting at just 18 years old for the senior team, he enjoyed a spectacular first season, scoring 179 points in 26 appearances and gaining a number of End-of-Season awards.
Having also been called up to the England squad on a number of occasions, Smith has gained great recognition, particularly after playing a fundamental role in leading Harlequins to the Premiership title in 2021 with eight tries in the season.
Next season, we expect the young star to continue to develop in an exciting direction.
Danny Care
As the second most capped Harlequins player of all time with over 300 caps for the club, Danny Care is one of the most talented squad members whose trademark breakaways give him great value as a player.
The scrum half adopts a quick tempo style of play that saw him take the title of top scorer on the team in the 2020/21 season with twelve tries.
Care has played a role in a number of historic Harlequins moments, including both Gallagher Premiership title wins in 2012 and 2021. He has also been called up to the England squad on a number of occasions, most recently in 2022.
Joe Marler
Ex-captain of the Quins, Joe Marler is both an exceptional player and big personality in the world of rugby.
Marler has played for Harlequins over 200 times and is well-known for his strong physical presence and skilful scrummaging.
The stocky 6-foot tall prop is a regular on the senior squad as well as the international stage and, like Care, played for the team in both winning Challenge Cup finals.
Despite receiving criticism for ill-discipline and a fiery temperament in the past, Marler has since proven a mature and ruthlessly committed approach to the game that makes him one of the most famous and talented players on the team.
Alex Dombrandt
Having joined in 2018, Alex Dombrandt has not been a member of Harlequins for as long as the likes of Marler, but he has certainly made his mark.
The Number 8 scored 11 tries in 24 appearances in his first season with the club and has continued to impress on occasions, such as the Quilter Cup match against Barbarians, where he scored two tries.
In the 2020/21 season his talent shone through even more as he helped the club to achieve the Premiership title by scoring in both the semi-final and final.
The former Wales Under-20 international has also risen to the international level, appearing for England nine times so far. His powerful running and offloading abilities make him a real force to be reckoned with, and he definitely deserves a spot in our top six!
Caden Murley
Winger Caden Murley has made 85 appearances for Harlequins since joining the squad in 2017, but possesses real talent that makes him one of the best players they currently have.
With an average of 12.9m per carry in the 2022 season, his speedy running abilities and quick thinking have seen him lead the team to victories with incredible try action.
Achieving seven tries in fourteen games in 2019/20 and three in fourteen games in 2020/21, Murley also played a fundamental role in the highest scoring Premiership final ever when Harlequins beat Exeter Chiefs 40-38 in 2021.
Andre Esterhuizen
South African centre back Andre Esterhuizen joined Quins for the 2020/21 season after leaving the Durban-based Sharks.
Nicknamed ‘Andre the Giant’, the 6ft 4 inch player is strong yet skilful and possesses an impressive tackle success rate of 87.9% (in the 2022 season).
Having played for the Springboks a number of times, Andre has also established himself as one of the best players on the Harlequins squad. With height and weight behind him as well as quick-thinking skill and strength, he is a talented centre who holds great stature on the squad.
